The Recuperative Powers of Knitting

I had a particularly difficult day on Friday. I had to say a final good-bye to my 15 year old Labrador Retriever. He has been an amazing companion for my family and his loss affected me greatly.

At the end of this tear-filled day I decided to nurture myself with some cashmere/silk lace weight (Filatura – Superior). I went home and cast on for a mindless knit so I could let my mind wonder. It is such a tactile sensation to knit with, I enveloped myself in its coziness.

I feel much better today (Monday). I once again reflect on the healing powers of knitting in my life.

A finished Block of the Month Afghan by one of our knitters.  Love her use of colors.   Makes me want to start another BOM afghan!
