Bon Voyage

Well, we are finally caught up marking in all the new yarn we go last week.  Ready for the next shipment(s)!

I’m posting this BLOG today, wondering how Pat is doing on the first day of her cruise.  What is she knitting, how many projects did she take, and how many will she finish?   Bon Voyage dear friend!

I think I’m ready to start a new project today.  I finished knitting placemats for a wedding shower gift,  now I want to start on something for my husband.  Maybe a vest….. what will it be now?  Tune is later this week to find out.  (Ihope he doesn’t ready this BLOG, I want it to be a suprise).

Help!

We’re drowning in yarn.  I think maybe we’ve over-ordered!  Hopefully there will be time to write you all a “witty” post later in the week.

We’ve Got Pictures….

Ok retreat goers…..  we’ve got pictures!  Since most of you don’t want your pictures posted we were challenged to find one acceptable.  “Gina” stepped up to accept the calling.  Share your Alpaca tales here!  Does anyone have a picture of Gina nibbling on Victoria’s fingers?  (Thank you Victoria for the great pic’s!)
For those of you who did not get an opportunity to meet Gina and the rest of the 40+ Alpacas at the Nygaard’s Alpaca Farm,  you can do so on September 27 & 28 as part of National Alpaca Farm Days.

How was the retreat?

By Hand Yarn held its first retreat this past weekend at Silver Spur Resort.  There was much laughter, knitting at not a lot of sleep!  So….is it true, what goes on @ Silver Spur stays at Silver Spur?

Changes

To the wonderful staff and customers of By Hand Yarn. Wow! I have had a doozy of a

summer. If you havn’t seen me around it’s because Sam, my son, started high school

this fall in Sacramento. We had to find housing, get it set up, and get Sam up there.

Now I am in the commuting mode. I will be up there with him and his housemate on

Sunday night, Monday and Tuesday. So for those of you used to seeing me in the

store on Mondays, I will now be in the store on Fridays. One of the many changes

that this new adventure has brought. Sam is doing great up there and Nina is

loving the alone time with the parent at home with her. She gets to be an only

child for a few years.

Anyway, thank you all for all of your support of By Hand. I couldn’t keep the

store going without Candace, Pat and the rest of my great staff, and of course, all of you.

Happy Knitting!
