November 4, 2009 · 5 Comments

jan 004As I referred to in the previous post, there’s another new knitter on the block.  This is Carol with her Rambling Rows afghan.  Carol and Jan have pushed, encouraged and taunted each other through classes together.  Way to go gals.

We have a couple of knitters that are truley amazing with all they’ve accomplished in the short time they’ve been knitting.  Above is Jan, who learned to knit 5 months ago.  The picture shows her wearing her first hat, a rambling rows afghan and a fair isle sweater she just completed.  Way to go Jan!

The other new knitter I referred to is Carol.  I will post her picture next week.

The above hat was knit by our friend Lynette. She started by spinning the new Mountain Colors roving.  What a beautiful fall colorway!

A Little Treat

October 10, 2009 · 2 Comments

There is sooooo much new Noro in New Colors…. I have decided to mark down some of last years colors in order to clear space for the the new.  So, anyone coming in today and tomorrow is in for a real treat.  There is Kureyon (great for felting) and Iro on the sale shelves.

All you Single Skein Social attenders….its a great time to dig out your hat pattern done in Iro.

Lacey Mitts

Lacey Mitts

Lacey Mitts

This picture just doesn’t do justice to these wonderful lacey mitts.  The class is next week on Oct. 9th.  I had the opportunity to “test” knit these for Pat and  I love the pattern!  I see these “lace fingerless mitts” in my stash of gifts.

For those of you that don’t want to wrestle with the double point needles, use this class as an opportunity to try knitting on two circular needles.  Come by the store and take a look and try on these lacey mitts!

Happy Autumn…

September 25, 2009 · 2 Comments

The change of seasons bring new yarns, and fresh project ideas.  We have so many new yarns, books and patterns its overwhelming.  I am debating what my next project will be.  It’s between lace wristees and a pair of socks from Cat Bordhi’s new book.

Now, if we get our backorder of Classic Elite yarns, then I may have to do a Tam out of Fresco.

What are some of the fresh new things you all are doing?

help 019Today I took half a day off. When I came into the store there were 24 boxes delivered from UPS today!  Then I checked the store email.  There were numerous UPS shipping confirmations totaling 439 pounds that will be delivered next week.  Somehow we have to find room for it all…..
