Happy Labor Day

August 29, 2008 · 2 Comments

For many of us Labor Day is representative of a change in the seasons.   Even with the 100 degree weather I sense fall in the air.  How coincidental is it that I just cast off on an old WIP this morning?  Now I can feel good about pondering my next project!  The store has new yarns and books coming in for fall, I can’t wait to CO with a new yarn.

Happy change of seasons to you all!

Stalled out….

August 27, 2008 · 2 Comments

I was in a knitting rut.  (I wonder what this is called?)  The project I was working on didn’t inspire me anymore, yet I had told myself I could not start anything else.  Finally on Sunday I pulled out a different WIP and fell in love with it.  Now I’m a knitting fool again (or perhaps just a fool).

I am thinking that taking a “break” from a WIP may be a healthy thing.

Reunion with Friends

August 25, 2008 · 4 Comments

This past weekend we had our 6th Anniversary Sale.  It ended up being such a great “reunion” with a bunch of old friends.   Thank you to all of you who dropped by to see us.  A number of you hung out at the store and worked on projects and visited.  The store was full of good humor and friends.  We are truley blessed!

New Knitters

August 23, 2008 · 5 Comments

I love the enthusiasm of new knitters!  This morning we have two gals in our “learn to knit” class.  It reminds me of what brought me to this endeavor and how much it has meant to me.

It has been great to see so many our fiber friends for our anniversary sale.  It is like old-home-week.  The sale continues through Sunday.

Autumn Clearing

August 20, 2008 · 9 Comments

We are beginning our Autumn clearing of the shelves to make room for our fall deliveries.  There are many new markdowns on the sale shelves, and today we work on the backroom!  You never know what we’ll find there.  It looks like we may be filling grandma’s goodie box this week.

Yesterday we marked down Cashsoft DK.  We have it in beautiful soft colors, in good quantity.  This is the steal of the day in my mind.

Lovely Sunday

August 18, 2008 · 7 Comments

Yesterday was the nicest day in the store!  I had a friend come up from Turlock and knit for the day.  The customers who came in were so pleasant and relaxed.  It really was one of those days…

I have decided on my next project.  I really want to do a market bag out of hemp or linen.  I’m pondering two different patterns.  Hmmm which will it be.

What’s New!?

August 13, 2008 · 5 Comments

What’s new in the store, besides me?  Well… today was my first day back in the store after a 2-week vacation, and wow, was I suprised.  I knew about the new Manos since Eric wrote a BLOG about that, but we also have gotten the following in:

Euroflax Linen, Gems in fingering and sport weight, Namaste Bags, Cashmere/Bison Laceweight, Silk Garden in Rainbow colors, Interweave Fall knits, Flat Feet in fall colors, and Tilli Tomas yarns.

I have barely begun to go through my piles of “stuff”, I just want to have fun with yarns.  Oh well, tomorrow is another day.  Maybe I’ll make some headway into my piles of paperwork tomorrow.

On the road home

August 11, 2008 · 2 Comments

Today is Monday, and we start the long drive home today.  I will have plenty of time for knitting today.  I hope to finish at least one of my projects so I can dig in on something new.  I can’t believe our fall order of Manos is at the store.  I will have a lot of catching up to do when I get back in on Wednesday.

Happy Knitting/Crocheting!

Website Problems

August 9, 2008 · 4 Comments

Imagine my suprise this a.m. when I logged on to the store BLOG, and the website was not accessible!  After numerous phone calls and trouble shooting we’re back up.

I have lost track of what day of the week it is.  I have had such a great vacation with so many activities time seems to have stood still.

I know I left town on August 1 and today is Aug. 9.  I have got quite a bit of knitting done in the past couple of days.  I am still working on the Sheep Three blanket, and My So Called Scarf out of Lorna’s.  I’ll try to post at least one more time before I get home, August 12.

Vacation Knitting Day 7

August 7, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Yesterday we went to Yellowstone.  It was an awesome trip, with a lot to see.  However, I did NO knitting at all.  Never fear, I woke up today and started my day with knitting on the Sheep Three Blanket.  Today is our last day in Jackson.  I think I’ll go check out the LYS, Knit On Pearl.

My next post will be from Grand Targhee.
