Pure Cotton, Pure Comfort, Pure Style
The Customer Trunk Show picture above is from Kimono Style.  It was done in Debbie Bliss – Pure Cotton.  Once again, my picture taking needs improvement.  (Remember though, a year ago I didn’t even know how to post a picture.)

Great “Public” knitting

Waterfall Shawl

Waterfall Shawl

Today’s selected picture from our Customer Trunk Show is of the Waterfall Shawl.  This was done with Blue Heron Texture Cotton and Gems sport weight held together.

Here in the store we have coined the term “public” knitting to refer to those projects that one can knit on whenever, and carry on a conversation, perhaps sip on a glass of wine or whatever.  This particular project is knit all in garter stitch until the cast off which is done dropping the stitches and letting them run to create a waterfall.   This is public knitting at its best…

Pretty in Purple

Pretty in Purple

Carri Ray, an avid knitter and friend of By Hand Yarn moved to Texas last week.   This picture was taken at the Diamond Back where a few of us  gathered for lunch after her last Block of the Month class in May.
If you haven’t guessed, Carri is also crazy for purple.
I will post another Trunk Show picture soon.

Challenge

June 5, 2009 · 3 Comments

Today’s pictured post of the Customer Trunk Show is of the Forest Path Stole.  This class at the store certainly was a challenge as was displaying and taking a picture of it!   So, when thinking of a title for the post, thats what seemed to fit!  Since the picture really doesn’t do it justice, you really must come in and see it in person.

Out of the box…

June 2, 2009 · 5 Comments

One of the things I loved about the Customer Trunk show last year was getting inspired by all the ideas our knitters came up with.  The pairings of yarn/patterns/colors, etc…

I decided to post a picture that epitimizes just that.  The sweater below is a Knitting Pure & Simple pattern gone “wild” with imagination!
